Well, I tried.....

I'm over a month behind, and I lack the will to try and catch up.  Maybe I will just pretend April didnt happen and pick up again in May.......  :(

#74-March 30, 2011

Alex's new past time is to climb into the car, and instead of sitting in the car seat, he sits in the seat next to it, and starts reading his books.  He thinks he's a big boy.  Sometimes he climbs into the drivers seat and makes vroom noises.  Then I ask him "Are you ready?"  Meaning get in your carseat.......he always answers "The oven's ready too"  which is a line from WowWowWubbsy.  Smart Alec....and I love it!

#73-March 29, 2011

Alex found this six pack cooler in the garage.  He calls it his "box"  This day, he decided to make his box a seat and create his own desk.  So innovative :)

#72-March 27, 2011

I was playing with Alex in his playroom when Shamu decided to come sit in my lap.  He never sits in my lap.  Unless Im pregnant.....weird cat!!  Here he is resting his head on my belly :)

#71-March 26, 2011

We were doing some yard work this day, and Mike picked a flower for me from our garden.  Alex was the delivery boy.  On his way over to me, he stopped to smell it.  Adorable!

#70-March 23, 2011

I honestly don't know what happened to all my pictures this month.  Either I am on crack, or I honestly slacked off.  But thats neither here nor there.  Time to catch up.  Here is Alex talking to his good buddy Mr Duck.  He honestly loves this duck pond more than any other place in the world.  He makes me smile....

#69-March 19, 2011

On this day, we headed to Liberty Station Park to celebrate JoJo's birthday.  JoJo is one of Alex's BFF's.  They have known each other since they were 3 months old.  It was our first time at this park, and we all had a blast.  Alex especially loves spending time with Dada.  Here is Dada pushing him on the swings.  Its a bad picture, but JoJo's Dada is also pushing her.  I love seeing Dad's with their little ones at the park.

#68-March 17, 2011

On this day we headed to Seaport Village to meet up with my dad.  Alex LOVES his "Ampa" so very much.  It melts my heart to see the two of them together.  They are such buddies.  It makes me wish my own grandfathers were around when I was young.  Alex is lucky to have 3 grandpas, and each one adores him.  Here he is with my dad enjoying the view...tear....

#67-March 16, 2011

Alex loves being outdoors.  He loves exploring, he loves nature, bugs, trees, plants, rocks.  He definitely takes after his dad.  On this day, we were hanging out in the front yard, when I came across a ladybug.  I wanted to show Alex, but was afraid he wouldnt be very gentle with it.  I was wrong.  He was so very careful with it. I am happy to say the ladybug lived to see another day.  Here is my boy and his ladybug

#66-March 14, 2011

I found this picture funny.  Alex has discovered the baby monitor camera in his room.  Here is what I see when he wakes up!

#65-March 12, 2011

Alex got a new T-Ball set from Auntie Melissa.  Here he is trying it out.

#64-March 11, 2011

Today we spent the day in Balboa Park, walking around with some friends.  This was the first time Alex has seen the fountain in front of the Reuben H Fleet at full force.  Here is pure toddler joy at seeing the water!

#63-March 10, 2011

Due to the generosity of some wonderful friends, Baby "Sadie" is now the proud owner of 17 pairs of shoes.  And she's not even born yet.  Spoiled girl :)

#62-March 9, 2011

Today we made our weekly trip to feed the ducks.  It was really warm out, so Alex took lots of breaks for water and snacks.  Here he is deciding between a mandarin orange and a cheese stick.  He's handing me the cheese stick back, LOL!

#61-March 8, 2011

Holy cow, Im a week behind.  Yikes!  Let me get caught up!
On this day, I took Alex to the Escondido Childrens Museum.  He had a really good time with his buddy Peepers.  It was actually a great place to take kids under 5.  And it was only $5.00.  Here he is admiring a giant bubble.  What kid doesnt like bubbles?

#60-March 6, 2011

I am a huge NASCAR fan, and I have always said I wouldn't make Alex like something just because I do.  Well, I put Nascar on the TV, and he stopped to watch.  He does enjoy watching the cars for a bit.  But it only holds his interest for a few minutes.  Its a start :)

#59-March 5, 2011

Today, we headed to Old Poway Park for our friend Audrey's birthday party.  Alex got to go on his first train ride.  He wasnt thrilled at first, but once it got moving, he was in heaven.  Here he is waiting patiently for the train to get moving...

#58-March 4, 2011

Today we went back to Queen Califia's Magical Circle.  Alex wasnt in the best of moods, he had been battling a runny nose for a few days.  We got there, and he decided the snake needed a drink of water.  He shared his sippy cup with him....

#57-March 3, 2011

Since Alex has hit the toddler stage, and wants to "help", I decided he needed a step stool to help him see the world from a new perspective.  Especially when I am in the kitchen, and he wants to "help"  So I bought him this contraption at Target.  He LOVES it.  Here he is watching daddy cut up lemons to make lemonade.

#56-March 2, 2011

Alex goes through crayons like it isnt even funny.  He doesnt use them up, he likes to break them in half.  Then he gets mad because he cant grasp them to color.  I even bought the toddler, fatter crayons.  The genius broke those too.  Then I got a bright idea to buy some Dollar store crayons, since he goes through them so fast.  Well, those dont even show up on paper.  So I had to break out my own box of crayons to share with him.  He hasnt broken a single one since.  But he does enjoy pouring out the entire box when he colors.

#55-March 1, 2011

So in my spare time, I play Zuma Blitz on Facebook.  Every week, I normally come in 2nd place, right behind a wonderful friend who always kicks my ass and makes it look easy.  Well, they start the new game each week at 11:00 pm, on Monday nights, so I stayed up and made sure I got the high score before I went to bed that night.  Im sure Joanne came on right behind me and once again kicked my ass.  But for a brief moment, I was #1!!

#54-February 28, 2011

Today, we met up with one of Alex's lady friends at the Wild Animal Park.  It was a beautiful day out, and we always enjoy the company of Peepers and her mom Alison. They have a huge hot air balloon type ride there at the park and Alex was entranced by it.  We stood and watched for a few minutes while it took people up in the air.

#53-February 27, 2011

Okay, technically I didn't take this picture.  But it was the happiest moment of my day, so I had to post it, since I wasn't exactly in Phoenix when it happened.  Here is my favorite NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, breaking his 66 race winless streak.  WOOHOO!!  24 rules!

#52-February 26, 2011

Another rainy day in Sunny San Diego.  Alex really hates being cooped up.  So I broke out the new rainboots and let him take a walk in the rain, even though it was also extremely freezing outside.  The things we do for our kids.  He really loves his new boots!!

#51-February 25, 2011

Never trust a toddler to hold your cupcake on the ride home. Hehe.  No really, he only licked the frosting off.  Then he handed me the cupcake with a smile. For the record, he already had one of his own.  No fair eating the pregnant mama's cupcake!

#50-February 24, 2011

Im a little slow to post these days.  Here is Alex after I tortured him with a haircut.  Apparently, having your hair cut is the equivalent to walking on hot coals with no shoes on.  Even if you get a lollipop.  It just makes you more angry because throwing the tantrum means hair on the lollipop. Then you cant eat it.  Ahhh...toddlers :)  Anyway, here is my big boy, being pouty.

#49-February 23, 2011

I enjoy taking Alex to new parks, just for a little bit of variety in our day.  This is Highland Ranch Park.  Lately, he really enjoys parks with the rock climbing walls.  My boy is a climber.  Im trying really hard not to be that mom that hovers.  Instead, I let him explore.  But today, he wanted to climb this wall in the worst way.  I was freaked out, because it was higher than I could reach.  But before I could convince him it was a bad idea, he was already at the top.  Here is said wall.....

He not only climbed it once, but numerous times.  I guess I have to let him grow up sometime.  I just hate that its so soon.  He's not even two yet, and he's climbing big boy rock walls.  Be still my heart!

#48-February 22, 2011

Like most toddlers, Alex goes through eating phases.  Right now his phase is to eat me out of house and home.  Here he is enjoying his scrambled eggs, Spanish rice and avocado.  And chewing on his spork, as he is cutting his two year old molars.

#47-February 21, 2011

Today was President's day.  Dada had the day off, so we headed off to Lake Poway to feed ducks and play at the park.  Here are my two favorite guys having a swing.

#46-February 20, 2011

Today I broke out one of Alex's Christmas presents that we had stored away for a rainy day.  My mom bought him a tent/tunnel combo.  I knew he would love it.  I brought the tunnel out first.  He was a bit apprehensive at first.  He wouldn't crawl through it at all.  So I got him to roll balls through it instead.  Such a fun game!!

#45-February 19, 2011

I was out in my front yard today, taking pictures of all the new growth on the trees and bushes and such, when I came across this little friend in my planter out front.  He let me take about 10 pictures of him.  Here is the best one.....and needless to say, I did not point him out to Alex for fear of what he may do to him.  Be safe little grasshopper!

#44-February 18, 2011

Alex is addicted to his "Best of Laurie Berkner Band"  CD.  We have to listen to it in every single car ride we take, and I am constantly singing her songs as we play.  While he was napping, I was playing on youtube, and came across his favorite song.  Here he is, mesmorized, listening to "Rocketship Run"

#43-February 16, 2011

Today was a rainy San Diego day :(  We would normally hit up the library, or an indoor playplace, but unfortunately our local school district is on a "district recess" this week, so I knew everywhere would be crowded as heck.  So we just headed to the mall for some walking.  We stopped to have a Starbucks break, a milk box for Alex, a hot chocolate for me and we shared a blueberry streusel muffin.  Yum!

#42-Fabruary 15, 2011

Today Alex and Baby Girl got a package in the mail from our great friend Shellie and her 3 beautiful girls.  Alex is going to look adorable in his new shirt, and I can't wait for Baby Girl to be here so she can wear this adorable dress.  Having a girl is going to be a blast!!

#41-February 14, 2011

Happy Valentines Day!!  Here is my boy enjoying a sugar cookie, made with love by his mama <3  I love my little family!!

#40-February 13, 2011

I've been messing with all the settings on my camera.  While its just a simple point and shoot, I have always been very happy with the pictures I take (and I take alot)  I still don't understand what all the buttons and stuff are for, but I have fun playing around.  Here is a beautiful San Diego sky

#39-February 12, 2011

Tonight my little family walked to our local strip mall for dinner.  Ate some yummy BBQ at Brett's BBQ and followed up with Maggie Moo's Ice Cream for dessert.  Im one of those moms that believes everything in moderation, so Alex got to share some ice cream with us.  He is loving it!

#38-February 11, 2011

Alex hates shoes.  HATES them.  As soon as we walk in the house, or get in the car, he's pulling them off.  Today I let him walk on the wild side, and play at the park with no shoes.  Check out the cutest piggies in the world!

#37-February 10, 2011

This is a terrible picture of an adorable moment, but it was the best one of the bunch (since I have a toddler who rarely stands still)  Alex is really into the moon and stars.  We have to sing the Laurie Berkner "Moon, Moon" song about a hundred times a day.  He looks for moons and stars in all of his books.  And on this night, he happened to catch a glimpse of the moon up in the sky.  He stared at it for quite a long time.  It was super cute!

#36-February 9, 2011

We are so very lucky to live in a neighborhood that has so many parks within walking distance.  And even more just a short drive away.  Here we are enjoying the 4S community park.  I love how this boy is always on the go.  I love that his hair is always crazy too :)

#35-February 8, 2011

Today was a special day around here.  We found out Alex is having a baby sister in June.  So we dressed him up in his new shirt and went to Starbucks to celebrate.  He loves playing in the fountains outside our local store.  Here he is trying to catch a water spout.

#34-February 7, 2011

Alex is in this phase where he picks one of his many books and makes you read it over and over and over.....
If its a cute book, I totally don't mind.  This one happens to be one of my favorites, and reading it to him makes me tear up every time.

He now recites some of the pages without me having to read.  Makes a mama so proud!

#33-February 6, 2011

We all know how toddlers love "helping"  Here is Alex cleaning out Dada's jug for beer making.

#32-February 5, 2011

Today we headed to our buddy Jack's birthday party at Playtown.  Its an indoor playground geared towards kids six and under.  We love these kinds of places.  The kids are contained, there are alot of things to keep them amused, and in today's case, its free!  We had a blast.  One of his favorite things in the place was the train table.  He loved pushing the trains through the tunnel, then peeking through to make sure they went all the way in.  Here is is taking a peek :)

#31-February 3, 2011

On this day, we headed to our favorite place to feed ducks-Lake Poway.  The ducks were a bit frisky today, and Alex wasnt in the mood to be chased.  So we headed to the playground instead.  Here is he enjoying a mid morning snack and smiling for the camera.

#30-February 2, 2011

Here is my baby being a big helper.  He likes to put things away, especially in drawers and cupboards he isn't normally allowed to be in.  He's obsessed with pot holders lately, and the pink one that fits over your hand drives him crazy.  He wants you to chase him around the kitchen with it.

#29-February 1, 2011

Happy February!!  Here is what I made (heated up) for dinner.  We all need lazy dinner days.  It was from Costco, so you know it must be good.  It was :)  Even Alex liked it, and he is pretty picky about meat.

#28-January 31, 2011

Yay, I made it through the first month of the year!!  Go ME!!

After our two weeks straight of beautiful 75-80 degree weather everyday, we had some freak rainstorm that blasted through yesterday and last night.  We had grilled on Saturday night, and left the grill cover off.  So today, I went in the backyard to cover the BBQ back up, when I discovered this little treasure...

We had been hearing him croak for the last few days.  Kept wondering if he would show him/herself.  Well lo and behold.  I just let him be :)

#27-January 30, 2011

Alex loves to read, probably more than anything in the world.  He loves for you to read to him, he loves reading by himself, and he has discovered that he loves reading to others as well. He finally had the great idea to read it to Shamu.  Doesn't Shamu look totally excited?  LOL!

#26-January 29, 2011

We had a visit from my inlaws this weekend, so I didnt get a chance to post much.  Here is our Saturday picture of Alex and his Gramma.  He's showing her what a genius he is and pointing out all his letters and numbers on the refrigerator door.  He loves his magnets :)

#25-January 28, 2011

I realized today that I am officially the mother of a toddler.  A toddler boy, no less.  Runs everywhere, falls down, skins knee.  Repeat several times a day.  We had a lunch date with my dad on Wednesday.  My dad pointed at Alex's knee and asked about his "owie"  Ever since then, Alex will sit down, point at his knee, make a sad face and in a pitiful voice say "owie"   Here he is pointing out his "owie"  Complete with dirty, digging in the dirt, boy hands....
